*IMPORTANT NOTICE* Wally's Cave Closed to the Public

The very popular Wally’s Cave on Lion’s Head has been receiving increasing numbers of visitors, thanks to its Instagram fame. Unfortunately, this surge in traffic – along with the creation of unofficial, “illegal” trails – has caused severe erosion, leading to a high risk of rock fall.

In the interest of public safety and to allow the fragile fynbos vegetation to recover, all routes to Wally’s Cave have been closed to the public. Anyone found on the paths to Wally’s Cave by SANParks officials will be fined.

Please respect this closure and help protect our mountain environment.
